Reg Sweep Review

RegSweep, known as Registry Sweep is a PC error diagnostic and repair registry cleaner. They are a company by itself at RegSweep.com.

Registry Diagnose and Repair Ability Ratings:

One word to start off with - Disappointing. (what a way to start off with eh? but we will just be direct)

RegSweep claims to be able to analyze all corrupted files, paths and registry keys and automatically repair them so that your pc would be up smoothly and running!

The above claim can only be agreed to a certain extent.

After doing a scan test on our test PC, it was able to detect a ton of errors. Within 2 mins....? Nope, it took about 3mins or so. (probably because we have a ton more errors, we don't really know RegSweep's scanning algorithm...)

Detecting is one thing but it must be able to solve all of the error keys.

RegSweep was able to sweep off all the CRUCIAL Registry Errors and that's a good start! However, after the repair was complete, several minor registry error keys were unresolved.

Minor as it can be but as long as a registry key is left unrepaired, we find it disturbing.

Don't get us wrong though that it sucks... it still does its job of scanning and repairing your registry. Our PC performance was indeed slightly faster after removal of those invalid entries and registry errors.

(Guess we are comparing too much with the top registry cleaners out there that makes RegSweep looks amateur.)

(We don't mean to scare you but we have to tell you just in case you rather play on the safe side and not install a software that has potential virus)

RegSweep has one of the easiest and most intuitive interface to begin with.

You simply do the following: (no joke)

1. Start the program
2. Start the Scan
3. Wait
4. Backup
5. Repair
6. * Optional features

Really simple.

There're several other optional features but one that's effective would be the management of your startup programs - delete what you don't want your PC to start on your next startup. - improves performance.

Customer Support:

RegSweep uses online contact form as communication with its users. Not as effective as 24/7 Live Support but still contactable.

Is RegSweep a safe, reliable and legitimate program to use?

Errrr... We can't give a definitely yes as compared to other registry cleaners...

Like the other registry cleaners, we uploaded their installer to VirusTotal for a virus scan.

Here's the results: 11 out of 41 anti virus beeped! - Some are major ones even.

Honestly speaking, this is SHOCKING, we don't know whether or not to say this is SAFE or NOT. Looking at the findings, 11 out of 41 anti virus program picked up something. That's a quarter of it. False positive or not, we honestly can't guarantee.

But we would definitely NOT recommend you to download RegSweep based on the virus issue - unless you know what you are doing.

Don't get us wrong, it still does its job by cleaning your registry.

However, we recommend you to play safe and consider other registry cleaners like RegCure or ErrorFix where they are clean of potential viruses. Click to Top

What is the latest version of Registry Sweep?

It's tough to give a definite answer as they are constantly updating their software. Why not save us the trouble (we have lots of stuffs to do, sorry) and just see from their product page?
